Disappear in a newspaper.

This work was entered into an inter-agency competition undertaken to boost flagging sales of newspapers in Ireland.
The brief from the National Newspapers of Ireland (NNI) was to convey the '‘essential pleasure’' of reading a paper.

My take on the USP was that reading a newspaper, more than internet or TV, is an extremely personal part of the day.
It’s a moment of respite where one is taken all around the world using description and the theatre of the mind.
In essence, we disappear in a newspaper; both in thought and behind it’s physical curtain.

It was very important for me to convey the sense of escapist serenity in this activity.

Photography and retouching were also undertaken by myself.
